Key decisions
Shape it with the people who will use it
We ran workshops and iterations with the people who would use it, to agree how Estonia should be introduced and what the website and toolbox needed to do.
Trade-offA slower start, for something people would actually use.

Make the guidelines usable, not just readable
The design system already existed. The hard part was making it easy for other designers and creative specialists to apply, so the toolbox puts the assets next to the rules.
Trade-offA toolbox to keep up to date alongside the guidelines.

Outcome
An institutional website and a toolbox of images, videos, icons, illustrations and fonts, so anyone introducing Estonia starts from the same material.
